The map was published in 1987 by the Alberta Department of Tourism and is dated in the legend. The cover photograph shows a highway with mountains in the distance, along with an inset of an Olympic torch runner — promoting the 1988 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XV Olympic Winter Games, held in Calgary.
