The Diecast Magazine is the diecast model magazine for collectors of scale model vehicles including diecast model cars, die cast trucks and die-cast models. Issue 26 of The Diecast Magazine details another glorious diecast model car release from CMC of its newly tooled 1/18 scale 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900C Speciale Touring Coupe. To see new tooling for a 1/18 model these days is somewhat of a rarity, so we could not let this model go unnoticed, which is why it features on the front cover of Issue 26 of The Diecast Magazine. Bringing it back stateside is Sun Star’s latest release of the 1/18 scale diecast model car of the 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham in Plantation Green. In 1/43 scale you can read about a variety of scale diecast models with retractable tops. How cool is that? Keeping in tune with US 1/43 scale diecast collectors, featured are three of GreenLight Collectibles’ Fast and Furious models. Focusing on Brian O’Conner’s cars, these small scale silver screen sensations are backed up with an article about the 1/18 scale Hot Wheels Batman Forever Batmobile. Of course, as TDM is an international publication, there’s always something for the international collectors and racing fans, so check out the diecast model car from Schuco produced in 1/18 scale of the 1960 World Formula One Championship-winning Cooper-Climax T53. Or if luxury cruising is more your thing, have a look at Chinese brand TRL Models’ diecast model replica of the 1/18 1968 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI State Landaulet. Heavy Machinery collectors are exposed to something different with the in-depth article about the 1/50 scale Drake Collectibles Grove RT540E in Australian-based Walter Wright corporate livery. Bus collectors will enjoy the special feature titled ‘Airbuses Without Wings’, about some special diecast model buses with airline-themed advertising. Also for something a little more different, we include an article about the die cast model of the US Navy’s F/A-18F Super Hornet in 1/72 scale, produced by Forces of Valor. ‘Diecast Diary’ sees AUTOart President, Jimmy Yee, explain the intricacies of achieving the carbon-fiber effect on his company’s past release of the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. Rounding it all off is a fantastic article from one of our readers, Steve Williams, about adding some realism while making a repair to one of his damaged models. As in every issue of The Diecast Magazine, Issue 26’s ‘Shop Talk’ features all the latest on new releases from around the world, while collectors have their say in the ‘Readers’ Page’, and share their collections with us in ‘Collectors’ Post’. Issue 26 of The Diecast Magazine rounds off its brilliant variety of balanced in-depth editorial content with our extremely popular ‘how-to’ section titled ‘Diecast Surgery’ by ‘Dr.’ Rob Smith; and, of course, the all-important ‘What’s Hot Online’ which lists many of the notable secondary market trades since the previous issue. Needless to say, Issue 26 of The Diecast Magazine takes first prize for a diecast collector magazine, and has the ‘diecastX factor’ as the best magazine for the serious diecast model collector. Issue 26 will be available until March 2015 at select diecast model dealers throughout North America, as well as Barnes & Noble bookstores, select Hastings and Waldenbooks stores, and Indigo bookstores throughout Canada.
