The Young family members of outdoorsmen, have been handcrafting there own style fishing lures and wildlife attractants for well over 150 years.
D.B.Young Jr. began learning his family crafts at a young age from Grandad, and continued to improve old designs, while also developing new ones.
In 1989, D.B.Young Jr. started Razors Edge Pro. Lures and Guide Service; turning generations of combined knowledge with lure craft, wildlife attractants and outdoor adventure activities into a business.
With over 45 years of trophy hunting and fishing under his hat, D.B.Young Jr. has created countless hand crafted fishing lure designs, and outstanding all natural animal attractants for the wildlife enthusiast or hunter.
Like many craftsman, some designs did not work as D.B.Young Jr. expected and for this reason they were scrapped.
Many however, like this series of weedless wooden surface lures proved with endless tests to be extremely effective for Bass, Pike and Musky.
Unlike other snag proof lures on the market that are hollow and made of thin rubber; D.B.Young Jr’s weedless lure bodies are solid hand carved wood. Those other snag proof lures are effective and catch fish, but it only takes one fish like a pike with sharp teeth to destroy it and make the lure useless to fish with further.
D.B.Young Jr’s new design is heavier and allows longer more accurate casts, are 100% more durable, and the rubber tails are fully replaceable.
Each lure comes with 5 replacement tails in colors to blend with the wood body paint patterns.
Since these weedless lures are made of wood and resemble a pollywog, D.B.Young Jr. named this series ‘’Woodywogs.’’
Although this series of wood lures were tested with over 2 dozen color combinations on numerous species of fresh water fish, 5 stood above all others as most effective.

Mud Minnow, with pumpkin pepper tail-
Perch with Green/yellow tail-
Goldfish with orange/yellow tail-

Painted wood body = (2 inches)
Rubber action tails = (3 ½ to 4 inches extended)

Important note for lure care =
Because these lures have a body of painted wood, always make sure the lures are dried off after each use, and stored in a dry tackle box or lure container.
Never store the lure long term with rubber tails in direct contact with the painted surface. Rubber tails will dissolve from a chemical reaction with paints and other compounds, and this reaction can damage your lures painted surface.
Do not apply liquid scent or fish attractants to the lure or rubber tails. Some attractants have chemicals that can deteriorate rubber and soften painted surfaces if not washed of after use.
Remember, these are handcrafted lures made one at a time, not mass production clones, no two are the exact same, but will still function with deadly attractive action, and D.B.Young tries his best to paint each color pattern close as possible.
