Top Quality Leather Baldric with Solid Brass Buckle

When you are seeking to hold your sword at the ready and a pistol close at hand, nothing works quite as well as a well-crafted baldric. By distributing the weight across the body there is only a light burden in carrying a medium one hander. Our baldric is crafted from top quality 1 ½ inch wide sealed leather. The main picture shows the standard 66" loop model for right hand cross draw thus worn on the left side of body.

The baldrics are made in Black Latigo and Chestnut bridle and have a pair of matching buckle straps to secure a sheath or sword and terminated in a matching ring upon which you may affix a small accessory. This is a proper sword carriage and also reasonable for a naval boarding axe. We make each of these in a manner that will suit the wearer's specifications and prefer to discuss the construction details in advance so please feel free to contact us either via ebay messaging or by email jordan at darkvictory dot com. We can easily enough accommodate special requests as we make each on by hand as they are ordered. The over the shoulder strap can be adjusted to suit by way of a handsome solid brass buckle.

Note:  The photo in this listing is the Chestnut Buckle Right Hand Draw (worn on the left hip) with buckle straps to attach and terminated in a ring. Note the detail pictures show refinements such as keepers on the weapon attachments and downward orientation on the tail of the chest strap. Please just ask so that we can continue to develop new ideas.

Options:

Which Side?  We'll want to know which side you'll be wearing this on so that we can build it correctly for you. The Chestnut Baldric pictured in this auction is intended to be worn on the left side of your body and would allow an easy cross body weapon draw with the right hand. Therefore, we call this a Right Hand Draw.  If you'd wish to wear your baldric on the right side of your body and use your left hand to draw your weapon, you would want to order a Left Hand Draw.

What about sizing?  We want to know how big to make the loop that will go over one shoulder and hang at your hip. The best technique that we have found to discover this length is for you to link together regular modern belts to create a mock up/sizing baldric. We are seeking the length that will make for a comfortable drape across your torso at whatever level you'd like it to hang. Then measure the length of the linked belts and send back that number to us. We will make a baldric to bracket that size.  Please contact us after your purchase so that we can give you this service! While we can make it "general fit," a proper fit is a thing of beauty. A 66" loop is often effective sizing for most adult males within the USA.

This fine belt is handmade entirely with hand tools in our smoke free workshop in Saint Albans, Vermont. We are happy to ship internationally and insurance is included in this rate.

Handling time:

We generally ship in just a few days but we also attend a large event called The Pennsic War takes us away from the workshop for several weeks every July/August.  We continue to accept orders while we are gone and will send things out within a few days of returning home.  Watch for the away message and note the handling time.  Please let us know if you are in urgent need by a specific date and we'll do our very best to accommodate your schedule.
