Erwin Stolz (1896 Giesshuebel/Sauerbrunn - 1987 Vienna) was a highly talented Viennese artist active between the two World Wars. He was one of the young artists of the early 20th century Austria forming the group "Hagenbund". The Hagenbund members, such as the Secessionists, presented modernist trends in the Viennese art of the early 20th century. Apparently Stolz carried out most of his works between the years 1920 and 1940 and was hardly active as an artist after the year 1945.
