In very attractive condition, with just a hint of wear to the corner-tips and spine-ends (see pictures). Signature of P F Cheesewright to front free endpaper. Light browning to endpapers. Binding sound and square.

Mary Braddon (1835-1915) was a prolific writer of sensational and supernatural fiction. She scandalously lived with the married publisher John Maxwell for several years before marrying him on the death of his wife. She became very famous with the publication of Lady Audley's Secret in 1862 - Eleanor's Victory was published in the following year.
