The Diecast Magazine is the one and only model collecting magazine for collectors of diecast model replicas and resin model collectors in the world.

Coach-built vehicles, concepts, carriers and much more fill the pages of issue 33 of The Diecast Magazine. Minichamps’ stunning 1/18 resin model of the Lincoln Futura Concept steals the front cover of this issue, but it was a close fight with the model maker’s equally deserving 1/18 resin model of the 1948 Cadillac Series 62 Cabriolet, coach-built by Jacques Saoutchik. These are beautiful model replicas of stunning vehicles from an era that broke new ground in design and creativity.

From the modern era, but equally opulent, is Kyosho’s massive 1/12 diecast model of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe Series II. While our words and pictures capture this model replicas fine detail and seamless construction, it is something that has to be seen in-hand to be believed. It may cost a packet, but you do get what you pay for, and with only 333 pieces available worldwide, you don’t need to be a mathematician to work out that some collectors are going to miss out.

Lovers of exotic supercars will rejoice at Automodello’s 1/43 resin model replica of the Noble M600. A supercar of primitive nature, this is one for the purists who love to drive, and drive fast. Automodello celebrates this supercar in small scale and in superb fashion.

Meanwhile, Kyosho again excels in providing collectors with exceptional value for money with its recently released Lamborghini Adventador LP 750-4 Superveloce in 1/18 scale. These diecast model cars are curbside model replicas, thus have no opening parts, but again you get what you pay for, and at under $100 they cater for budget-minded collectors with a taste for quality in 1/18 scale.

It isn’t always about horsepower and luxury, as proven in our wonderful article about CMC’s revised diecast model replica of the ‘Blue Wonder’ Mercedes-Benz race car transporter. The original, produced over a decade ago, has been revised, and we compare the two, as well as provide some images of the real-world version on show at the Mercedes-Benz museum in Stuttgart, just to prove how accurate this model really is.

But the uniqueness doesn’t stop there. Check out a new entrant into the model world, Iconic Replicas, and its diecast model rendition of the very rare 1931 Mack 6-BK-3S Parlor Coach in 1/50 scale. We show blueprints of the design and layout, which match the model’s design and production. Issue 33 of TDM welcomes back AUTOart president Jimmy Yee in the Diecast Diary section to share his thoughts regarding ‘The Rise and Fall of Collectable Diecast Models’. Providing a counterpoint is Douglas R. Kelly’s brilliant Streamlux article ‘Definition of a Diecast Rarity’, which shows that older things can be appreciated anew.

On the subject of AUTOart, and catering to passionate collectors of American race cars, William de Boer writes about the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R #64 PRO GTE Le Mans Class Winner, produced by AUTOart, and the 1/18 1967 Indianapolis 500 Paxton Turbine as driven by Parnelli Jones, and produced by Replicarz. Better still, we have race-day pictures of AUTOart’s model, which again shows the level of accuracy applied.

Closing off issue 33 of The Diecast Magazine are the popular how-to section Diecast Surgery by ‘Dr.’ Rob Smith and, of course, the all-important What’s Hot Online, which lists many of the notable secondary-market trades since the previous issue.
