For sale is Dusty Springfield's You Don't Have To Say You Love Me, originally released in 1966 by Philips Records, a division of Mercury Record Productions. On the first pressings, at the bottom of the record labels' outer rim printing, is the text "Philips Records-Vendor Mercury Records Corporation". This is a second pressing which doesn't have this text but has the "deep groove" center labels, often thought to be the better sounding pressing. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers M-1/M-1, followed by "MR", indicating the first stamper was used to make this second edition, then pressed at Mercury Records Manufacturing Company's Richmond, Indiana pressing plant. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it in a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The vinyl is visually graded as VG because of sleeve marks and surface scratches. I'm play grading it as VG because of an occasional pop and surface noise, more noticeable during the quiet sections of playback. The cover is graded as B+ because of corner blunts, ring wear, edge rubs, staining/foxing around the bottom of the jacket's corners and a 5" seam split on the bottom seam extending from the lower right hand corner. The spine has color loss from corner blunts and a dent in the middle along with some oxidation. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I bought it and still has a lot of life yet. I have more British Invasion records, as well as albums of all different genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing.
I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
