Candida albicans is a yeast germ that ordinarily exists in balance with the trillions of bacteria that inhabit a healthy digestive tract. However, when that balance is thrown off by poor nutrition or environmental toxins, an overgrowth of candida may occur in the intestines, causing the candida to mutate from its yeast state to a fungal form. Once it has mutated, candida can be severely damaging to the body. Candida is the short name used to describe yeast overgrowth in the body. The technical term is Candidiasis. Like their “cousins” the molds, they live all around us. One family “Candida Albicans” lives in all mucous membranes, i.e. intestines, eyes, ears, bladder, stomach, lungs, vagina, etc. It is one of the billions of other friendly organisms that serve a useful purpose in the body. One of its important functions is to recognize and destroy harmful bacteria. However, candida is not intended to overgrow and get out of control while the body is alive. When Candida Albicans is under control it poses no problem, but when it gets out of control it begins to overgrow causing numerous symptoms and health problems from the top of the head to the tips of the toes, from migraines to nail fungus. It can result in symptoms inside (pain and malfunction of organs. It can also cause problems with the mind and emotions. A healthy immune system keeps Candida in balance with the other micro-organisms in the mucous membranes, but under certain conditions it begins to overgrow and get out of control. Because Candida is resistant to antibiotics the imbalance of micro-organisms allows it to take over. It begins to change its shape and starts to overgrow; raising large families called colonies.

Black Walnut

Black walnuts have been used for hundreds of years by Native American, Russian and Chinese cultures for a variety of conditions, including expelling harmful organisms. More recently, the high fatty acid content of black walnuts has earned it added appreciation. The essential fatty acids, along with sterols, are known to benefit the heart and cardiovascular system. Black walnut hulls have a long history in herbal medicine. Black walnut’s benefits in helping to expel intestinal parasites. Black walnuts and their hulls (from the green hull) contain high amounts of antioxidants, iodine, and essential fatty acids. In fact, new conversations are looking at the role of black walnut to assist with weight loss efforts. Excess body weight is frequently a multidimensional issue. An imbalanced, detrimental caloric intake can be further exacerbated by a sluggish metabolism or even malnutrition which may stem from a poor diet, parasites (harmful organisms) or problems with the digestive system. Oregano Benefits

Oregano has been used for centuries, originally by the Greeks, for curing a variety of ailments. The antimicrobial and antifungal properties of oregano are attributed to thymol and carvacol. Clinical studies have shown oregano to be extremely effective in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans. Additional clinical studies demonstrate that oregano oil has anti-microbial properties against a large array of bacteria including Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella enterica and Staphylococcus aureus. Oregano oil is a powerful antimicrobial, because it contains an essential compound called carvacol. Oregano is a popular herb that many people think of as merely a spice to improve or enhance the flavor of their food, but in truth, this perennial herb, with the scientific name of Origanum vulgare, has a wealth of health benefits that most people don’t realize at all. Native to southwest Eurasia and the Mediterranean area, oregano has been a valuable part of both culinary and alternative medicine. Oregano is actually closely related to mint, and its genus is actually in the same family as Mentha. For this reason, the two share many similar organic components and have many of the same health benefits. Oregano is a wonderful herb, both to use in your cooking and to use therapeutically as needed. Its name means "mountain joy," and oregano was revered as a symbol of happiness by the ancient Greeks and Romans. One active agent in oregano is rosmarinic acid, which is a strong antioxidant that may support immune system health. Oregano has one of the highest antioxidant activity ratings, with 42 times the antioxidant punch of apples. Carvacol and thymol, two phytochemicals in oregano, are powerful antimicrobials. There’s a lot of evidence to show that oregano oil is a powerful tool for the immune system, especially when it encounters outside invaders. One study straight from the United States Department of Agriculture reported that oregano oil has such a strong action against germs that it could easily defeat Salmonella.

Lactobacillus acidophilus - The Popular Probiotic With Many Health Benefits

Lactobacillus acidophilus means rod-shaped, lactic-acid producing bacteria that grow well in an acidic environment. It is one of the bacteria that give foods and drinks such as yogurt the tangy taste. Lactobacillus acidophilus, also known as L. acidophilus, is a beneficial bacteria that you definitely want living inside your smallintestine. It is very acid-resistant and tolerates bile quite effectively. Besides nestling into the mucosal lining of your small intestine, you'll also want L. acidophilus "colonizing" and protecting the lining of your vagina and cervix, (if you have them) and your urethra. In these places acidophilus will work to produce lactic and other organic acids inhibiting the adherence and multiplication of pathogenic microbes. Like the billions of other beneficial microorganisms in your digestive tract, L. acidophilus helps you digest food, produces vitamins and facilitates digestion. Even though there are many other kinds of probiotics in your intestines, lactobacillus acidophilus plays an especially important role. It is key to your digestion of dairy products and produces vitamin K, which is essential to proper blood clotting and bone formation and repair. Not all types of bacteria are bad for you. In fact, your body needs a certain amount of bacteria to function properly. Lactobacillus acidophilus is a form of bacteria that’s found naturally in the body, usually in the intestines, mouth, or female genitals.

Caprylic Acid

Caprylic acid is a saturated fatty acid containing eight carbon atoms, making it one of the family known as medium-chain fatty acids. Caprylic acid is a fatty acid that has many helpful properties. It boosts the immune system and helps protect the brain and heart. Read more to find out all about its benefits. Caprylic Acid is a type of fatty acid known as Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs). It is typically found in edible oils like coconut and palm oil. Caprylic acid can inactivate bacteria by creating an acidic environment or by a direct impact on the expression of virulence factors. Caprylic acid can kill both viruses and bacteria by causing disintegration of their cellular envelopes. The antimicrobial effect is also related to its interference with signal transduction in cell replication. Caprylic acid is able to reduce the amount of pathogens in milk. It penetrates and gets incorporated into the bacterial plasma membrane, alters membrane permeability and helps kill the bacteria. The antifungal fatty acids insert themselves into the fungal membranes and physically disturb the membrane, resulting in increased fluidity of the membrane. This will cause changes in membrane proteins. They are proposed to have increased fungicidal activity due to their increased freedom inside the membrane. Medium-chain free fatty acids have a broad spectrum of microbicidal activity against enveloped viruses.

Aloe Vera

Aloe contains several anti-inflammatory compounds, including salicylic acid, C-glucosyl chromone and an enzyme called bradykinase. Meanwhile, aloe reduces the production of acid in the body. Aloe vera is quite an incredible medicinal plant full of nutritional benefits. It is a succulent plant and part of the lily family (Liliaceae), the same family that garlic and onions belong to. Different parts of the plant are used for different purposes and aloe vera has both internal and external applications. Aloe vera is medicinal, and like all plant medicines, should not be consumed every single day for months on end. Aloe Vera contains over 200 active components including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, polysaccharide, and fatty acids. Aloe Vera Is High in Vitamins & Minerals.
