S Vintage 1970s 70s Navy Blue Pucci Coat Cashmere Winter Outerwear Designer

Description:

Please be aware that this coat is NOT Emilio Pucci. This is a custom garment by master tailor Lawrence Pucci who had a shop on Michigan Ave and catered to the upper class. His custom suits ran in the $5,000 range. He was known for his classic and timeless styles. This is no exception! This is a navy blue coat with double breasted closure, wide peak lapels and deep hip pockets. This is a beautifully made, classic style, winter coat. The material is unmarked, but it feels like cashmere which would make sense as the lining is silk. There are a few issues to note, all on the interior. A couple of buttons have been re-sewn on top of the lining and there is a separation in the pocket lining. There are some small wear spots and tears in the lining and the seam where the inside of the collar meets the coat is separating, it is hidden behind the neck. There are no tears in the cashmere, just loose stitching. Interior button is missing. There is a large tear in the lining behind the legs. This may seem like a lot, but silk is very delicate and does not hold up to the heavy wear required of a lining over extended use. This was likely a very, very expensive garment intended for special occasions. These things are not obvious when the garment is worn and even with the coat open are difficult to find because the lining is very dark. The exterior of the coat has no issues. As Is.
