Zum Verkauf steht ein originaler Kupferstich von Virgil Solis, in der Platte monogrammiert. Gedruckt auf Bütten ohne Wasserzeichen, mit feinem Rändchen um die Plattenkante.
Darstellung von der römischen Heldin Veturia mit einem Schild mit der Inschrift “S.P.Q.R.” (Senatus Populusque Romanus = Senat und Volk von Rom) und einer Kette in der Hand, umgeben von einer Rollwerkkartusche mit Blumenornamenten.

Virgil Solis (1514 – 1 August 1562), a member of a prolific family of artists, was a German draughtsman and printmaker in engraving, etching and woodcut who worked in his native city of Nuremberg.
Details:
For sale is an original engraving by Virgil Solis, with the monogram the plate. Printed on laid paper without watermark, with fine margins around the platemark.
Depcition of the Roman heronie Veturia holding a shield with the inscription “S.P.Q.R.” (Senatus Populusque Romanus = Senate and People of Rome) and a necklace, surrounded by scrollwork with flower garlands. (Hollstein 313)
Plate size: c. 8.4 x 5.7 cm
Condition:
- at the upper margin mounted on paperboard, vers collector's stamp
- very well-preserved
