This is a singular specimen
of crystalized fibrous sugilite
from the Nchwaning 3 Mine,
Kuruman, Northern Cape,
Republic of South Africa.
This is an interesting specimen
with nicely formed
crystalline fibers of striking color
decorating a chunky matrix.
I have taken two series
of photos showing the specimen
displayed in two different positions.
The first five are taken from
a different presentation point
than the remaining photos.
This enticing sugilite specimen
weighs 130 carats (26 grams)
and measures 1 1/4 " x 1" x 1/2".
