A Word About Box & Papers
It is a fact that the majority of vintage Rolex's on the market no longer have box & papers, therefore most of our Rolex's will not have their original documentation, this does not mean that they are not genuine. We provide our own paperwork with each Rolex we sell, this will show our details and a description of the Rolex sold and include the full serial number and case reference number. Remember just because a Rolex has box & papers it doesn't mean that it is genuine! We have over 15 years experience buying, restoring and selling vintage Rolex watches and we vet every Rolex we buy thoroughly. Movements, cases, dials, hands and bracelets must be correct.
Presented in superb condition is this very rare double reference 1956 stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Chronometer. This beautiful original Rolex has a rare and desirable dial type and looks superb on the wrist. 1950s Rolex's are becoming hard to find and are highly collectable. This Rolex is one of the very first to have the famous caliber 1030 movement known as the 'butterfly' rotor and one of the pretiest movements made by Rolex.
The genuine top quality stainless steel Rolex ref: 6565 case is in close to mint original condition. The case measures 34mm in diameter excluding the signed screw down Rolex winding crown. The screw in case back is signed with double reference numbers 'MONTRES ROLEX SA GENEVA SWITZERLAND STAINLESS STEEL 6564 6565 1.56', the serial number 198xxx dates this Rolex to 1956. The screw down Rolex crown functions properly and is the original with the Rolex crown and the Swiss Cross.
The original 19mm stainless steel Rolex Oyster folded link ref: 7205 bracelet is in excellent condition and is fully signed. The bracelet is complete with 12 links, this will fit a 19cm wrist or can be adjusted down at the clasp. This Rolex bracelet has the correct highly polished sides and brushed satin finish to the top.
The original satin black dial is in mint condition and is a rare type. The dial has very attractive silver double reverse arrow batons making them really stand out from the dial, the silver hands and seconds sweep contrast beautifully with the black dial. The dial is signed 'ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL DATE SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED SWISS' with the raised silver Rolex crown logo in the twelve position.
The high grade automatic 25 Jewel Swiss made Rolex caliber 1030 chronometer movement is in superb condition and is keeping excellent time over a 36hr period, this movement has been well cared for over the years and has had a recent service. The watch winds and sets smoothly. The movement is signed 'MONTRES ROLEX SA GENEVA SWISS TWENTY FIVE 25 JEWELS ADJUSTED 5 POSITIONS AND TEMPERATURE 1030'.
