 Product Description:

This offering is for a new Sierra Sport Ripstop Full Zip Jacket (w/hood) in a men's small.  It's black in color (and sorry the florescent lighting is "washing out" the color in some of the pictures. I should also mention the garment probably fits a bit looser than the sizing indicates. 

The wind/water resistant shell is made from 100% nylon and that is really all we have here...a shell. So it is a light jacket without any additional lining or insulation. Given this design and the fact that it appears slightly oversized, my guess is it's intended purpose is to be used as an outer layer when weather conditions call for it, while also being able to shed it and tuck it away in a relatively small compartment (when not needed). 

Please also understand there is more here then just a poncho or loose/oversized rain gear. The design of the hood appears somewhat anatomical and includes a cinching mechanisms at both ends of the drawcord to really tighten the front of the hood around the head (to prevent weather elements from getting to the head/hair). There is a similar cinching mechanism around the bottom/waist of the jacket...presumably for the same reason...to tighten the jacket around the waist (to prevent weather elements from getting to the core of our body). I don't mean to overstate the function or attempt to "hard sell" these jackets, but as I continued to inspect one of them, I found myself pleasantly surprised with the design and features (especially at this relatively inexpensive price point).  

In addition to my own observations and comments above, I also wanted to include some of the information on the jacket tag...as follows...

  • Wind and water resistant ripstop material

  • Full zip with exposed hood for protection

  • Front flange to shed water

  • Two hand pockets with closures

  • Jacket stuffs into its own back zipper pocket

  • Drawcord at the hood and sweep for a custom fit

  • Small and convenient travel companion

I do regret I have just the one (small) size in these light jackets. Although, in an attempt to assist with proper fit (because this small size does appear to be generously cut, we took the following measurements... 

  • Chest Measurement: 46" (inches)

  • Front side length: 25" (inches)...not including the hood

  • Back side length: 27 1/2" (inches)...not including the hood

  • Sleeve length: 33" (inches)...measured from the top/center back to the end of the elastic sleeve

We realize some of the above copy from the jersey tag is marketing, but we still thought some of the information might be useful to potential customers viewing this listing.  Additionally, the single zipper pocket in the back is nicely finished and measures 9" wide and 7" deep.  

In terms of condition, these are new jackets that came to us individually wrapped in plastic bag packaging and still factory sealed in small cardboard crates/boxes. So they are new and have actually never spent any time in a retail store or on a rack.

We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case.

Note to international customers regarding customs...
We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale.
