The 516 is a heavy jig style hook with a 60 degree bend at the eye. I often omit a bead and tie emerger patterns on this hook.
Characteristics
This is a standard length hook with a 1X gape. It has a down eye and is formed from a heavy weight wire. Sizes 4 to 24 available.
Materials
As with all Firehole Sticks, this hook is made from high strength carbon steel, which is properly hardened and tempered. The hook is chemically sharpened and finished with a black nickel coating.
