Hand crafted fishing floats from Cork Cane & Quill. Inspired by time honoured designs, each float is fashioned and finished by hand from high quality traditional and natural materials, then sealed against the elements with a minimum of four coats of hard wearing lacquer. Floats that look better in the hand than in pictures and better still on your line when about to disappear under the surface on your favourite water.

Of classic proportions these wire stemmed stick floats each have bold coloured dome shaped tops for excellent visibility, with this listing offering the choice between top colours of white, red, yellow and orange. Each colour variation is available at 7", 6" and 5" taking shot loadings of 4AAA, 5BB and 3BB respectively.

There are also two Tonkin cane stemmed floats included with this listing, at 6" long they take 4AAA to set and are available with either red or yellow tops.

A favourite choice when exploring the swim using long trotting techniques, the balsa stick has the right shape to aid line mending without disturbing the path of the bait, as well as offering the opportunity for holding back to make the bait lift and flutter enticingly.

The addition of a stem on these floats acts as a loading, enabling them to perform well not only on smooth glides but also on swims that feature more turbulent stretches. As well as aiding stability in the flow the stems on these floats create metronomic like predictability as the float settles with each shot on the line, giving bite detection from the moment the float finds the water.

The turned balsa bodies have steel wire stems inserted at the base to which a hand coiled brass wire line eye is spiral whipped with fine black silk thread.
