This immensely popular type of Watch is the Doctor’s Dial Watch, so named for its oversized large center sweep second hand and a large oversized seconds chapter ring for doctors to use in Various Timing Functions, Notably Taking Patients Pulses. This Particular model is The Bulova Medical Officer and uses the 10AX caliber movement that were manufactured in the 1940’s. These are Especially Prized by Collector’s, are highly sought after and are a must have for Watch Aficionados and Especially Bulova Collector's.
The Sweep Second Hand Ticking its Way Smoothly Around the Dial. The 10K Yellow RGP case (stainless back) is in Very Good Condition with some minor rub wear on the top and bottom (12 & 6 o'clock), monogrammed with WJH on the back along with some minor and insignificant scratches.
The case measures 35mm's (1.377 in.) from lug tip to tip and 29mm's (1.141 in.) wide (not including the crown) and houses a Grade 502, Size 4/0 Elgin Movement s/n’d 34481235 and dating it to 1933. The inside of the case back has a dedication in it by Ruth Ellen Clappison dating 1931, that would indicate the movement was changed at some point, It has Just serviced and it Winds, Sets and Runs Great.
The New Old Stock White Elgin Dial is in excellent good Condition. The Correct New Old Stock GS Acrylic Crystal has been installed and the Blued Steel Hands and Gold Embossed Numbers make this watch BEAUTIFUL. It comes with a NEW High Quality Black 16mm Stitched Leather Band that measures 7.25 inches (18.415 cm’s) from the buckle to the third hole in the band and is ready for its NEW OWNER to wear.
