Description

This Family 3D Hand Casting Kit is for casting of family - 2 adult and 2 to 3 childrens or so. Our instruction contains easiest way to calculate - How much material you'll need for your project.
Instructions contains explanation of casting for 4-5 hands, please do not hesitate contact us if having difficulties.
Also has QR-code, for quick and easy access of visualised instruction on youtube (very handy if you looking as gift).
Once completely dry (approx 5 days), casting is ready for painting, or if you prefer, you can leave them as they are.

⚠️Kit has no own packing - Comes brown cardboard box packed, you need re-box if you looking for gift!
We don't do moulding containers because moulding container can vary depends of your moulding pose - 1. what's fits for two hands won't fit for 4 or 5 and reverse. 2. Providing something that most people would have lying around their house - its a waste of Customers money, because container would increase the overall size of the package and its weight also. The result would be an increase in kit cost, which would have to be passed on to the Customer.

⚠️You'll need additionally:
Moulding/Mixing container(s). Plastic water bottle top cut off, bucket of paint or any other suitable container (enclosed instructions explained how to get correct moulding container).
IMPORTANT - Distilled/Deionized water (usually in supermarkets). Enclosed instructions explained how to get correct numbers.
Kitchen scale. Calibrated jug.
Electric drill with a paint mixing attachment or whisk of electric mixer.

Please pay your atention.

Because you working with fast setting moulding material (Alginate powder), very rarely, but possible fail of moulding or errors and wastage of moulding material (Alginate) if does not follow instructions.

3D casting - produces a 3 Dimensional cast of the body parts using moulding powder (Alginate) and casting plaster. The moulding powder is a complete natural product (made from seaweed) and is hypo-allergenic, non-toxic and biodegradable. It is widely used within the medical profession for taking tooth impressions. The moulding powder is mixed with water and becomes into a soft creamy mixture. Moulding agent captures every tiny detail. Casting process is easy, even for novice lifecasters. Finished cast can be mounted in various 3D frames, display plinths, with engraved name-plates and colored, i'ts up to you.

Baby & Child Castings

1. Will it hurt my baby?
Absolutely not. Your baby will be putting his or her hand or foot into a soft creamy mixture which will become firm but stay flexible after just one minute. The hand or foot then slides easily and cleanly out of the mould.
The moulding powder is mixed with cold water which may cause momentary surprise!

2. Could my baby be allergic to the moulding agent?
The moulding powder is a complete natural product (made from seaweed) and is hypo-allergenic, non-toxic and 100 biodegradable. It is widely used within the medical profession for taking skin and tooth impressions.
Small scale skin test recommended, just in case.

3. How long does it take?
It takes no longer than 1 minute for the mould mixture to set once the hand or foot is placed in the moulding container. The entire process takes no longer than 5 minutes.

4. My mould sets too quickly.
The time taken for the mould to set varies with temperature of the air and the water as well as the amount of water added. You can use one of our kit "3D Casting Kit for newborn and babies up to 3 years", which contains SLOW SET Alginate, which has extended working/mixing time. 5. Does my baby need to be asleep?
Not necessary, but in case with newborns and babies up to 3 years of age, we would recommend kit which contains SLOW SET Alginate, because Newborn and children up to 3 years of age don’t understand and they don’t keep still long enough, they wriggle while you taking moulding of their limb. If they wriggle at that critical moment, those few sec when mixture settling, the moulding will have failed. In such cases it is best to be asleep. But body of sleeping babies (as all of us) are sensitive to temperature change, this can wake up them. Working temperature of Regular or Fast set Alginate is 21/23°С, which is too cold and will probable waken baby and your process can be ruined. If we increasing water temp up to temperature of body (31-33°С), Regular or Fast set Alginate working/mixing time reduced significantly (up to 10/20 secs) - no time to mix properly and put limb in to mixture. In this case we have solution - SLOW SET Alginate, which has extended working/mixing time. So, by using SLOW SET Alginate, you still have 40/50 sec for mix properly if water temp is 31/33°С.

6. Is the process very messy?
No. Once the mixture sets it forms a rubber-like mould which peels easily from the skin and baby's hand or foot will emerge completely clean. We recommend doing home castings in the kitchen so that any mixture, once set, will peel cleanly away from smooth surfaces. Wear a old shirt and roll up the sleeves. Alginate and Casting Plaster won't stick to skin or other non-porous surfaces, but will stick to clothes and carpet.

7. Can reuse the mould?
No, it has to be broken up to peel it away from the plaster cast so it is not possible to reuse the mould.

Goods will normally be dispatched within 24 hours upon receipt of cleared payment, but during busy times it may take up to 3 working days (Business days). Estimated delivery dates depend on postal service selected. Delivery times may vary, especially during peak periods. We'll contact you to confirm the delivery.

Can I change the shipping address after purchase?
Unfortunately, you cannot change your shipping address after your order has been placed. But you can cancel if order is not shipped.

My order hasn't arrived.
Not all items will fits through your letterbox, we recommend to leave a note on the door or ask your postman to leave it with a neighbour if you are going to be out. Not all postman leave "you were out" cards, many items are left at the carrier's local depot without your knowledge. If estimated delivery date has passed, then we recommend that you ask the carrier's local depot if they've already tried to deliver it, or ask your neighbour if the package has been left with them. If there's still no sign of your order, please contact us.

What happens if my item is damaged?
We require you to take a picture of the damaged item immediately and email it to us. Failure to do so means we will be unable to refund any delivery costs. Signing for a parcel is acceptance that the goods are received in good order so please check all courier items immediately.

What happens if I miss the courier delivery?
There must be someone to sign for a delivery at the supplied delivery address. If you are out, the courier will try to leave the parcel with a neighbour. If this is not possible a card will be left with a contact number for you to arrange to collect from the depot. If you are out and do not make contact with the courier the goods will be returned to us & the administation charge for this will be passed back to you, the customer. Unfortunately, if you wish us to re-send the goods via the courier, we will have to charge you again for postage as we will be charged again. Please ensure you supply a contact telephone number when you place an order so you can be contacted by us if needed.
