Important Information:
In the past, it has been easy to filter international vendors from eBay search listings by selecting [UK Only] from the ‘Item location’ search refinement options. However, it is becoming increasingly common for international vendors to 'work' the system by setting up as a UK seller, but still operating from another location. It is also becoming common practice for some of these same vendors to list UK 1st or 2nd class delivery, or fast shipping promises, but to then claim the item is out of stock and actually dispatch the item from elsewhere across the globe using slow shipping methods, often taking weeks to arrive.
If you want to be sure of the actual location of a vendor....
Desktop site - Click on the seller’s name, found under 'seller information' on the right hand side of the listing, then click [Business details] at the top of the page and the location will be displayed. Alternatively, click [Business seller information] at the bottom of the item description and the location will also be displayed.
Mobile site - Click [Read more], just below the seller’s name in 'About this seller' and then '[Registered as business seller] and the seller’s actual location will be displayed.
Mobile app - Click the seller’s name in 'about the seller' and then 'legal information' at the bottom of the page and the sellers actual location will be displayed.
If you are unable to obtain the seller’s address details using the above methods, they are operating as a ‘private’ seller and you will not be protected under Consumer Contracts Regulations. Beware of sellers claiming to be businesses, but selling under a non-business account; they are likely denying you of your consumer rights!
