Stereo Receiver. It features Onkyo's WRAT amplifier technology and produces up
to 45W per channel at 8 Ohms for robust audio playback. Bluetooth connectivity
is built-in to allow you to wirelessly stream music from compatible audio
sources such as computers, smartphones, and tablets. For more traditional
connectivity, the Onkyo TX-8220 has a digital coaxial, optical, four RCA, and a
phono RCA input for connecting a variety of audio sources. A remote control is
included as an added convenience.

The TX-8220 is equipped with inputs to connect a range of sources. Use

through to the speakers, line-level inputs for a CD player or DAC, and the MM

Designed for Hi-Fi Sound
Pair the TX-8220 with your choice of speakers to add high-fidelity sound to
everyday entertainment, from streaming audio to TV programs, vinyl, and CD. Its
discrete amplifiers, large EI transformer, and customized capacitors are
engineered to deliver ample driving power with low distortion. A high current
grips the speaker cones for accurate control, helping to restore vitality and
detail to music. Non-phase-shift circuitry, meanwhile, aids in focusing the
audio image.
High-Current, Low-Impedance Drive
Dynamic passages in music and film soundtracks can see impedance spike and
dip dramatically for short periods. This can place up to 10 times the usual load
on your amplifier, and if it can't meet power demands, sound quality suffers.
Onkyo's high-current low-impedance WRAT (Wide Range Amp Technology) design uses
an EI transformer to help drive your speakers accurately, even under heavy
loads.

Discrete Amplifier Design with Quality Parts
Unlike amplifiers based on integrated circuit (IC) boards, Onkyo's discrete
amplifiers incorporate hand-selected audio-grade parts into their design. The
TX-8220 has fully discrete output stage circuitry with heavy-duty transistors to
control running temperatures, lower distortion, and increase the life of the
product.
A/B Speaker Posts for Multi-Room Audio
The TX-8220 features two sets of speaker posts, allowing you to connect up
to two pairs of speakers. The receiver is designed to drive either a single pair
of speakers rated at 4 to 16 Ohms, or two pairs of 8- to 16-Ohm speakers,
allowing you to enjoy the same audio source in two rooms at once, or to switch
between two sets of speakers in the same room.
Independent Bass, Treble, & Balance Controls
Bass, treble, and balance controls are useful for optimizing the tonal
characteristics of your music. These circuits let you fine-tune the sound to
your own taste with no perceived loss in audio quality.
