This is a really charming, hard to find MARX light up toy school c. 1940s or 1950s.  It is marked "MAR inside an X Toys" on the top inside of the roof.  Measures 6" to roof and  7.5" to top of cupola and about 10.5" wide from roof corner to corner.  It is missing the back door insert and the original light cord and accessories.  What you see is what you get.  Comes with everything pictured.  It is meant to light from the interior to see shadows of children in the windows.  I have added a new multi color LED strand which sufficiently lights the interior and the cord can conveniently exit through the open back door.  I like LEDs best as they don't get hot like old lights and are unlikely to melt something.  This is an old toy and does have a few defects.  The front step had a major orange glue stain on it which I treated with a little acetone and it has toned down now to a minor stain.  There is some color variation in the plastic especially on the roof.  Someone taped the front windows to the wall- I did not attempt to remove the tape- it is inside and cannot be seen when displayed.  See photos.  Nice vintage condition considering age and use.  It would be a wonderful conversation piece for any collection or putz village set up.

I do accept returns with free shipping in many cases, but I certainly prefer that you are satisfied with your purchase and want to keep it!  So, please use the photos and feel free to ask any questions that you might have!  Vintage item shows some wear from age and use.  Please use photos and zoom as your best description.

PLEASE READ ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS BELOW PRIOR TO PURCHASE OR MAKING AN OFFER:

Sales Tax for PA Residents...  If you are a resident of PA, you are required to pay sales tax of 6% on any eligible sales, excluding clothing items. The sales tax prompt is set to calculate at checkout.

Best Offer... Although one major retailer has the world convinced that “free” shipping is literally free, it is not.  Someone always pays and often times it is quite expensive.  My prices which include “free” shipping in most cases, have shipping costs factored in to the purchase price.  Before making an unreasonable offer and wasting everyone’s time, please consider where you are located compared to PA and whether or not your offer will even cover the shipping.  Most of my items are priced at the most reasonable price which I can ship to CA, OR, AZ, WA, and TX and still make a profit.  I base my prices off of what I have into any given item, eBay and PayPal fees, most recent sold listings, the rarity of an item and shipping costs.  If you live closer and the shipping will be less, then I will factor that into my best offer decisions.

Shipping… I ship items same day to 1 day after payment is received. I insure most items for shipping and in the event that something is damaged, keep the item and the packaging and let me know ASAP to resolve.  You may open a “return” case if it eases your mind, but in general that just slows the process as it is NOT necessary to return the item.  Just let me know and I will send you an email with more information.

International Shipping… I will ship internationally, but only using the Global Shipping.  I have no control over that pricing or system, so I cannot answer questions regarding their quotes, sorry.  Also, I will NOT falsify the customs form, so please do not even ask.  The eBay system automatically fills out the form now in the shipping center and I will not change it.  So, what you pay and the fact that it is “merchandise” is recorded.  You may have to pay a high customs tax- be aware.

Customer Satisfaction... Most of the items that I sell are vintage, used and loved- they are RARELY going to be perfect.  Please note, that even though I try my best, and consider myself a detail oriented person, I am still human and have found myself looking at something a second or third time and finding a problem that I had not noticed before.  Also, you may consider something a problem that I have not even considered as a defect.  So, please ask all pertinent questions prior to bidding.  If you receive something and are not satisfied, please contact me and I will do my best to resolve the issue. Also, sometimes shipping mishaps occur.  PLEASE DON’T freak out and DON’T leave feedback BEFORE contacting me.  It’s no catastrophe.  Just contact me if something is broken and I will resolve it.  If you are happy with your purchase, please leave positive feedback.  I will always strive for 100% feedback so please try to be reasonable and I will do my best to make you happy.

Payment…PayPal is the only form of payment allowed by eBay.  PayPal is a confirmed address site.  Please make sure that your shipping address is correct and current within both eBay and PayPal systems.  I cannot be responsible for re-shipping items to the correct address and I will not override/change the address on the label.  If payment is not received within 2 days, I have my account set to open an automatic unpaid item case.  If you find yourself with some delay or problem with paying, contact me.  An open case does not affect your buyer ratings as long as you pay within the appropriate time frames.

Toy and lead paint warnings…  Anything I sell is not to be eaten.  These items are meant to be collectible items.  They have not been tested for lead paint according to my knowledge, so don’t let children or pregnant women eat them.  I have not had any problems with this personally, but so many sellers have this type of disclaimer that I thought it is probably a good idea to stress these points because the government and lawyers think we are all morons and I don’t need to be sued.
