Item Description

Small accessory accent pieces of Awaji pottery are rare, most of the items found are vases.

This small, 4-5/8 inch diameter, dish is finished in an emerald green glaze and features an incised Chinese motif of the 5-claw dragon chasing the flaming pearl of wisdom.

The only identifying mark is a very small impressed plover, or chidori, on the back.

A very nice and hard to find decorative accent piece for your collection of Awaji pottery.

Item Condition
Good used condition with:

• A tiny flake of glaze off the top rim as seen in the close-up with finger
• Crazing and light wear scratches throughout
  
• The base has a stilt pull and glaze drip, these flaws are original, as made, and not subsequent damage
