BioRepair® is a breakthrough in dental science. Working with chemists at the University of Bologna, Coswell Laboratories used the latest scientific advances to discover a toothpaste that can actually repair teeth.
Hydroxyapatite is a substance virtually identical to enamel. Scientists have known about hydroxyapatite for years, but finding a successful means of application was problematic.
Then Coswell Laboratories developed MICROREPAIR®, microparticles of hydroxyapatite. The microparticles contain calcium, phosphate and carbonate in percentages identical to the natural proportions found in teeth, and zinc, which enables slow dissolution in optimum concentration. Because they’re microscopic, the microparticles can penetrate minute flaws and crevices where they bond with the natural hydroxyapatite to actively repair enamel.
The SEM images opposite show the surface of the enamel before, during and after a treatment with BioRepair®. They clearly show the progressive growth of the hydroxyapatite microparticles until they completely hide the flaws.
