Filigree is a delicate kind of jewellery metalwork, usually of gold and silver, made with tiny beads or twisted threads, or both in combination, soldered together or to the surface of an object of the same metal and arranged in artistic motifs. It often suggests lace and remains popular in Indian and other Asian metalwork. It was popular as well in Italian, French and Portuguese metalwork from 1660s to the late 19-th century.
In this lot we present a Filigree pendant, made in Europe, late 19-th to early 20-th Century.
The pendant is heart-shaped with delicate wirework spirals and swirls and a five-petaled flower at the center.
Made of Fine Silver (>925).
Has normal wearing due time, also patina layering on the Silver, darkening at places. No missing wires.
