Die fünf 2 Euro-Gedenkmünzen "Bundesrat“ würdigen eines der fünf ständigen Verfassungsorgane der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Die erste Sitzung des Bundesrates fand vor 70 Jahren, am 7. September 1949, in Bonn statt. Die Gedenkmünzen sind Teil der im Jahr 2006 begonnenen deutschen Münz-Serie "Bundesländer". Das Münzdesign der 2 Euro Bundesrat-Münzen wurde von dem Künstler Michael Otto aus Rodenbach gestaltet und zeigt ein sehr detailliertes Bild des Bundesrat-Gebäudes in Berlin-Mitte. Das Jahr "2019", das Wort "BUNDESRAT" und der Prägebuchstabe "A, D, F, G oder J" sind Teil des Münzdesigns. Auf der Wertseite der 2 Euro Bundesrat-Münzen sind eine Karte von Europa, 12 Euro-Sterne und der Nennwert "2 EURO" zu sehen. Der Münzrand der deutschen Gedenkmünzen enthält die Inschrift "EINIGKEIT UND RECHT UND FREIHEIT" und einen stilisierten Bundesadler. Dieser Satz enthält die Bundesrat 2 Euro-Gedenkmünzen aller fünf deutschen Prägestätten.

The five "Federal Council" 2 Euro commemorative coins pay tribute to one of the five permanent constitutional organs of the Federal Republic of Germany. 70 years ago, on 7 September 1949, the first meeting of the Federal Council took place in Bonn. The German commemorative coins are part of the coin series "Federal States" which was started in 2006. Designed by the artist Michael Otto from Rodenbach, the motive of the five coins feature a very detailed picture of the Federal Council building in Berlin. The year "2019", the word "BUNDESRAT" and the mintmark "A, D, F, G or J" are part of the coin design. The value side of each coin depicts a map of Europe, 12 Euro stars and the face value "2 EURO". The edge of the German commemorative coins contains the inscription „EINIGKEIT UND RECHT UND FREIHEIT“ (unity and right and freedom) and a stylized federal eagle. This set contains the Federal Council 2 Euro commemorative coins of all five German mints.
