A tape drive as a backup is still relevant if you need reliable backup. Why? In the worst case scenario, all hard drives are destroyed by a lightning strike; Viruses often damage all hard drives, even in Raid . Raid Systems are secure, but only in conjunction with a tape drive. Why? Simple: If Raid controller breaks, information on the hard drives often cannot be accessed.

In addition, the data backup can also be carried out automatically (e.g. always at 1:00 p.m. from certain directories and on the network from certain PCs), and the backup program is not a human - the program never forgets to back up your data. VXA-2 Packet drives offer twice the speed and 100% restore integrity of DDS-4 - at a comparable price. Unlike traditional servo track based tape drives, the VXA-2 Packet Tape Drive uses individually addressed packets to store and read data on the tape - very similar to how the Internet works.

The data backup is either fully automatic or, if necessary at the moment, can be started manually.
The drive works very well, for example, with MS Server 2000, Server 2003 and also with Win2000 and WinXP. As backup software you can use backup software from Windows (so it doesn't cost anything extra), or another backup program (e.g. Retrospect, Brightstor etc) -
