SFC Aluminum Mechatronic Adapter for 6HP26, 6HP28, 6HP32

If your car has displayed the "transmission fault" and is not operating correctly, read below.

SFC offers a direct replacement Aluminum 6HP26, 6HP28, and 6HP32 Transmission Mechatronic Adapter (grommet, valve body seal) for BMW, Jaguar, Range Rover, and others.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

This adapter acts as a transfer port to allow fluid to move from the  transmission to the “mechatronic” valve body, which houses the solenoids to shift gears. The fluid pressure engages the different solenoids to shift gears and when the OEM plastic adapter cracks, there is a loss of fluid pressure and the solenoids can not open and close properly causing the failure or “Transmission Fault”

PLASTIC VS ALUMINUM?

The SFC aluminum version of the mechatronic adapter has improved dimensions over the OEM plastic version and is a direct replacement. The aluminum material is better able to withstand the high transmission temperatures than the OEM plastic materials. Most of the other transmission components are made from aluminum and so it’s easy to see why we chose high grade aluminum. The OEM plastic version has been well documented to crack due to the high transmission heat over time, usually between 40,000 to 60,000 miles. If your car has lasted more miles than that without any issue, consider yourself lucky and be prepared for when it does happen.

High-quality, Precision Rubber Gaskets. Our SFC aluminum mechatronic adapter comes with precision gaskets made from the highest quality rubber material. We have also engineered our gaskets with a thicker rim contact surface which provides better O-ring sealing strength over the OEM gaskets which have a thin sealing edge. Additional gasket sets are also available to replace during future service visits to extend the life of your vehicle.

** A Key Indicator to Diagnose a Broken Adapter. **           We hear from many customers that a common situation when the “transmission fault” occurs is during the action of going from DRIVE, to REVERSE and backing up 2-5 feet, back to DRIVE. This will not happen each and every time but it can certainly be a key indicator to what is happening within your transmission. The shifting from D to R, and then back to D puts excess pressure on the transmission fluid trying to transfer between the transmission and valve body.

DO YOUR RESEARCH

If you search the internet for ‘6HP26 adapter’, you will see there are many articles describing the “SAFE MODE” problem car owners encounter. The initial trouble shooting attempt should be replacing the plastic OEM mechatronic adapter as this is the least costly and easiest solution to check. A clear indicator that this is the root cause of transmission issues is when your car is running fine and then all of a sudden the transmission fault warning shows up on the display. It could happen while shifting from drive, to reverse, back to drive again due to the excess fluid pressure required to shift the transmission.

Talk with your local independent mechanic and ask what he thinks about replacing the original $15 plastic mechatronic adapter with THE EXACT SAME $15 plastic adapter.

> If he says it will be "OK", you should consider the source.
