Depicts a bird's eye view of a Paris society couple dining at an elegant restaurant. There unfinished dinner is left on the table with empty bottles of champagne, wine and untouched salmon and shrimp. Signed lower left Juarez Machado 1997.

 Measurements: approximate
 Image only: 10 x 13 inches
Image with mat and painted wood frame: 15 x 18 inches

On the back, there is a sticker at the top from the framer. There is brown paper, but no hanger.

Artist Juarez Machado was born in Brazil, but has spent the past 30 years in Paris. He has worked in illustration, theater, television, sculpture and gravure.

What makes this print special is that the couple at the table are engaged and yet separate. Each are looking in different directions and lost in their own thoughts. The woman is smoking a cigarette, but left most of her meal untouched. (Possibly how she keeps her slim figure.) Her husband or male companion is dressed in a suit and tie and is also looking around the room, but in another direction. He is leaning in towards her which shows that they are together.

The restaurant is sparse, with another couple in the background with a waiter. It is elegant with velvet sconced chairs, drapes and chandeliers. It is an intimate look into Paris society.  The bird's eye view is not easy to do, but it creates interest in this piece.
