Paul Jordan Smith (1885-1971) was an American writer and literary editor who interviewed most of the great literary figures of the twentieth century. He is perhaps best remembered as the perpetrator of the hoax art movement Disumbrationism, for which he wrote a manifesto and successfully exhibited several clumsily-painted canvases under the name Pavel Jerdanowitch, to critical acclaim.
