Description: A very nice example of the first printing of the first edition. A comic novel, told in epistolary fashion as a sequence of exchanged letters. Original hardback in original dustwrapper. Top edge red.
The dustwrapper is not price clipped, showing the original 18s price to the inside front flap. It is in excellent condition, with no obvious signs of wear (see pictures). The book itself is likewise in excellent condition, with bright titles and edges sharp, and very light bumping to the spine ends (see picture). Internally clean, bright and free of inscriptions. Binding sound and square. An excellent example.
