An Expressionist take on the biblical story of Patriarch Jacob and his dreams about a staircase that leads to heaven, known as Jacob's Ladder. Series of 5 of 15. Signed and dated 1988 to the underside in marker. Weight Approx., 50 lbs. 

  Jay Milder was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1934, and his grandparents were descendants of the Hasidic mystic, Rabbi Nachman. The spiritual history of Milder's family played a profound impact, as most of his art themes are based on biblical references through his Expressionist style.

            Condition: Great condition. Subtle chips to the edges and various light craquelure to the raised parts to the piece.
