1841 antique engraved map: Meets of the Petchley Hounds,
printed more than 175 years ago.
- The image area of
the map measures 16.5 x 12.5 cm [6¼" x 5"] on a larger sheet, and
it was published in the October 1, 1841 issue of The
Sporting Review, J. Mitchell, 33 Old Bond Street, London.
- The coverage area includes part of Leicestershire and
Northamptonshire in England's East Midlands region, and it shows roads, railway, canals, and villages.
- The letter "X" is used to locate the starting places for
the fox hunting meets,
with numbers showing their distance in miles from Northampton.
- The map was engraved by William Hughes, and the distance
scale is measured in English miles.
- Condition: This map is in very good condition,
bright and clean, wiht no marks, rips, or tears.
It is blank on the back, with no printing on the reverse side, and it
is uncolored, as issued. Please
