In the family comedy The Smurfs, a mix of live action and animation, the Smurfs make their first trip to the big screen in 3D! As the evil sorcerer Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they accidentally tumble into our world through a magical gate - landing in the middle of Central Park in New York. Even as big as three apples, they are now stuck in the "Big Apple". Stranded in the foreign city, the Smurfs are looking for a way to get back to their village before Gargamel locates them.
Raja Gosnell (Scooby-Doo, Beverly Hills Chihuahua) directed this great 3D adventure for the whole family, based on the characters of the Belgian painter & inventor of the Smurfs Peyo. The main characters are Neil Patrick Harris (TV's How I Met Your Mother) and Jayma Mays (The Department Store Cop, TV's Glee). Hank Azaria (Godzilla) is seen as the Gargamel, the Nemesis of all Smurfs. Pop star Katy Perry lends her voice in the original English version Schlumpfine.
