Antique SILVER 84 Filigree WOMENS ORNAMENTAL BELT Traditional Russian Folk Belt
In this lot we have an authentic antique traditional Russian folk belt.The belt is quite old and although we can't give it a specific dating estimate, our safe guess is 1850-1900.
The belt has an elaborate Filigree wirework design with floral and geometric motifs illustrative of traditional Russian folk art.
Made of solid Silver 84, marked with an old Kokoshkin hallmark and a letter "M". The belt is in two parts that are made to be attached on top of wooven belts or fabric belt bands. The belt covers the front half of the body, without the back, usually worn with a jacket-like garment that covered the back. The belt is very well made with wonderful detail!
Fits perfectly a 70 cm waist. The two parts are held together with basic hook lock that holds securely when the belt is well fitted.
Has normal wearing for antique object. No damages, no broken elements, no twisted or missing wires. Very well preserved in excellent antique condition!
