Ceramic cream-colored coffee pot in classic mid-century modern style, made in the 1950s  by Hall for Ernest Sohn Creations, Inc.  The pot is ribbed and waisted with a brass plated finial.

Like many other of the great American designers of the mid-century, Ernest Sohn was a refugee from Nazi Germany. He designed for Red Wing and Glidden before he started his own giftware company in the mid-1950s. Sohn's work was recognized by the Museum of Modern Art during his lifetime and was included in an exhibition of the Contemporary Jewish Museum of San Francisco, "Designing Home: Jews and Midcentury Modernism."

The quality of Hall's china manufacturing shows in this coffee pot, which is in excellent condition.  The only defect noted is that the brass plating on the lid finial is worn.

Dimensions:  11 5/8"H x 9 1/2"D x 6"Dia.
