We recommend before installing the product in place test everything to check that it works.
First thing to consider is which power source you are going to use to turn on the camera. This can be done in a few ways and is specific to each vehicle, but this can be done by:
- Using the wire signal coming from when reverse is engaged.
- Using the reverse gear signal wire on the loom for an aftermarket stereo
- Using a scotch lock and use the power source from the reversing light. This option will require running an additional cable to the front of the Vehicle.
This power source can be used for the camera (1) and the monitor (7) should you want them both to turn on only when reverse is engaged
Start by connecting the Cables together like shown in photo number 9 on the eBay listing.
Below is a description of each wire
Accessory Cable
(1) Red - 12v power supply
(2) Black - Ground
(3) Yellow - Camera
Camera side wiring
(4) Red - Positive from existing brake light
(5) Black - Ground from existing brake light
(6) 4 pin connection
Monitor wires
(7) Red - 12v power supply (fused) Can use same power feed as camera
8) Black - Ground
(9) Yellow - Av source 1 (Camera)
(10) White - Av source 2 (DVD player or Dash cam)
(11) Male to Male Av connector (Used to connect cables (3) & (9) together)
If the parking lines are turned off as default and you require them simply cut the brown loop which is exposed on the wiring loom
Ideally the 10m cable should be installed inside the van with the panels inside removed. For applications where this is not possible the cable can be run externally but be aware damage can be caused by debris off the road and heat from the exhaust.
Should you have issues with the brake light not working this can be because the polarity is the incorrect around meaning the positive and negative need to be switched
