This leather is often called Crazy Horse. Its got a crazy character of becoming lighter when you bend it which we call "pull-up". The oil in the leather pulls up to the surface and that makes the color three or four shades lighter in that section. You can see this in the pics I have posted. This gives the leather a two-tone appearance as well as a rustic look like its been out on the range for a cattle drive!
