Distribution of Rain Over the Globe.
- It was compiled by the Swiss
geographer and Princeton professor Arnold
Henry Guyot and
published by Charles Scribner's Sons, New York in
Guyot's Physical Geography.
- The image area measures 27.9 x 45.3 cm [11" x 17¾"], and
the map labels
the world's zones of perennial, semi-periodical, and periodical rains.
- Profile views show the increase of rain toward interior
and mountain regions
and the decrease from the equator to the poles.
- Figures next to cities show the annual amount of rain in
English inches,
and arrows show the direction of winds bringing rains.
- It labels the region of "low clouds, drizzling rains, and prevailing
summer fogs and dry winters," and shows the "probable equatorial limit of the fall
of snow at the level of the sea."
- Condition: This map is in excellent
condition,
bright and clean,
with no marks,
rips, or
