This book, is about fundamentals of oriental brush painting.  It is one of a series of Pitman Publishing art books.  Wang Chi-Yuan was born in China in 1895.  After estabilishing himself as a painter, he headed the Faculty for Western Painting at the Shanghai College of Fine Arts.  He also drafted texts for the Ministry of Education and published his own books on painting.  He lived in the USA after 1941, first on the West Coast a dn later in New York, where he established the School of Chinese Brushwork.

This book shows the materials and techniques for water-ink painting.  It features black and white photos of techniques, equipment and paintings on nearly every page.

1.The PAPER cover is in EXCELLENT condition

2.There are ARE NO TARES on the BINDING.

3.There is ALMOST NO WEAR at the corners and edges

4.The spine is SLIGHTLY WORN.

5.The binding is intact

6.The inside front and back endpapers are clean, with NO dedication.  

7.The page edges ARE slightly yellowed.
