Title: The Touch of Chance

Author: Robin Maugham

Description: Rare. This is an original 14-page typescript of a short story by Robin Maugham submitted to Associated British Picture Corporation (ABPC) as a potential scenario for a movie. The title label dates the submission to August 1952.

Loosely inserted is an internal ABPC memo from Frederick Gotfurt, ABPC's scenario editor, to Gilbert Gunn, the director, forwarding this and other Maugham stories for consideration. The memo is dated April 1955, so clearly the scenarios had been with ABPC for a long time.

Bound in pink card covers with typewritten titles to front cover. Measuring 13.5 inches by 8.5 inches. 14 typewritten pages, all complete. It is in good honest condition with some wear, and creasing to the edges, not affecting any text (see pictures), and one small handwritten correction to the text.

Robin Maugham (1916-1981) was a prolific writer of short stories, often with a weird or quirky element, a number of which remain uncollected.
