For sale is an exceptionally rare volume indeed, being THE ADVICE OF Charles the Fifth, Emperor of GERMANY, AND KING OF SPAIN, To his Son Philip the Second; Upon his Resignation of the Crown of SPAIN to his said Son. LONDON, Printed for H. Mortlock, at the Sign of the White Hart in Westminster-Hall. 1670. 163p.p, collated as complete. Small 4to.

Bound in full contemporary sheep, with tooling in blind to the boards. Original plain endpapers.

Externally it remains in good order for it’s age; extraneous rubbing and bumping, but the hinges firm and intact.

Internally, save the odd spot and occasional toning, this is a delightfully clean volume throughout.

Research on the ESTC shows only a handful of copies of this text, held in some of the world’s most prestigious libraries; The Bodleain and The British Library, to name but two.

Overall, this is a discovery most rare and we are unable to locate another example anywhere on the open market, or indeed a record of one ever selling. Hence, it is an opportunity not to be missed, and it will grace any collection.
