1. Remove the brush cap/cover

2. Remove old/damaged brushes

Sometimes dust will get into the works so it can be helpful to blow compressed air into the brush-tubes to dislodge dirt or dust which might prevent good contact between the brush tube, brushes, and the armature. Sometimes the corners of the brush tube could use a cleaning with a sharp-pointed pick so the brushes slide easily.

3. Install new brushes.

4. Replace brush cap/cover.
