Gustav Robert Högfeldt was born on ?February 13, 1894 in Eindhoven, Netherlands and died June 5, 1986 in Djursholm (Zw.) ?He was a Swedish painter, illustrator and cartoonist, and with a "disneyesque" style created a world fit for children's books and postcards.


One of his favorite subjects was trolls, but unlike most rural-living trolls of literature, his trolls were "urban" trolls, posing cute and posing no risk to anybody.


Högfeldt studied art in Dusseldorf ?and 1913/17 in Stockholm at the Academy ?and at the same time in Paris. ?


Högfeldt was mainly for his humorous ?famous paintings and book illustrations. ?Some of his works are in the Swedish National Museum. ?
