"Needmore Barn"

Oil on Canvas -  20" x 24"

Original and signed by the artist. Illustration style painting by Indiana artist, Steve Haigh.

Background:

Found this lovely barn while cycling in Brown County, Indiana.  What character!  Luckily, I was able to come back later the same day to do a quick plein air study (see my Facebook post recording under Steve Haigh Fine Art where I painted this live).   Needmore, Indiana is just a store and a couple of buildings near Lake Lemon.  Legend has it, early settlers who lived here were always in need of food, thus the name.  This painting is a studio piece based on the plein air study.   Let me tell you, this piece really glows with rich reds, burnt sienna's, and shades of purple, green and lavender.  The frame is a "gallery wrap", meaning the sides are thick (1.25") and also painted.  So, you can either frame it or leave it unframed with the sides showing for a more modern look.

14-Day, Money Back Guarantee (buyer pays return shipping).  I want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase of this timeless piece of artwork.  Should you decide the painting not right for you for any reason, you may return the painting within 14 days.   My #1 concern is your satisfaction.

Art on a Mission.  50% of the proceeds of my artwork goes to charity.  While I appreciate all offers, would you consider these charities when you bid?   Prints are available on Fine Art America.

About the Artist:

Indiana painter, Steve Haigh was born and raised in Toledo, OH, where from a very young age his love for the outdoors was ignited.  As a young boy, Steve was always outside exploring the woods and meadows behind his house.  For as long as he can remember, he has been creating with his hands and excelling at art.  So much so that he was honored as the top artist at his high school graduation. Steve is the proud owner of a 1972 Gibson SG that he still plays from time to time.

Now as passionate outdoorsman and artist, you're just as likely to find Steve with a fly rod in hand as you are a paintbrush, chasing trout, bass, and beautiful scenery around Indiana or as far away as Montana.  His inspiration and passion for painting comes from his lifelong experiences in the outdoors, his family, and his faith.   " I feel God's pleasure when I paint," says Steve.  Steve donates his profits to charities such as World Vision and Building Tomorrow.

Steve spends many of his weekends painting "en plein air", meaning outdoors from life.  "I try to get as much done as fast as possible outside to capture true colors and the quickly changing light.  Using reference photos, I refine back at the studio," says Steve, "To capture the true essence of a scene".  As a  juried member of the Hamilton County Artists Association and a member of Indiana Plein Air Painters Association, Steve has won many awards for his work such as Honorable Mention at the  Carmel On Canvas Plein Air Event, the People's Choice Award at the TC Steele Plein Air Event, and the Figure Drawing Merit Award at the Indianapolis Art Center, to name a few.

Steve's paintings can be found in private collections throughout the United States.  Here are just a few quotes from his many happy eBay customers:

"The difference between a pretty picture and art is that art makes you feel something or remember something...your work evokes memories and even emotions".   --Jack - State Senator, Florida

"Unbelievably beautiful; so well done. Touches my heart. So pleased. Thank you."

"I am so excited about this painting... We have a home in far northeastern Oklahoma, this painting reminds of watching the sunrise from our deck.  Thank you for painting this lovely picture!" --Robyn, Oklahoma

"Your painting makes me feel an appreciation for the country again and gratitude for the life I now have."  --Joey - Missouri

"A beautiful piece.  I'm extremely happy all around!"

"God has certainly blessed you with this wonderful gift"  Tina, Indianapolis.
