Norwegian brunost, brown cheese from Tine. "Fløtemystost original"

500 grams cheese block. Most Norwegians have grown up with this highly regarded brown cheese. Made as we know it today since 1863. Very nice on fresh bread or on waffles together with jam.

In the 1860s Anne Hov, a Norwegian farmer’s wife, invented the Gudbrandsdalen brown cheese, which has become one of the national symbols of Norway. The cheese is made from whey, cow’s and/or goat’s milk, and cream. This mixture is caramelised and boiled to perfection, hence the brown colour. The taste is sweet and fudge-like, with a hint of goat’s milk.

Norway’s national cheeseMost Norwegians eat the brown cheese on their sandwiches, cut into thin slices by using a cheese slicer, (another Norwegian invention). However, the cheese can also be used on waffles, and as an ingredient in e.g. brownies or sauces.

We ship almost worldwide. Please note that no tracking number is available for shipped orders, all are sent by unregistered letter. I have shipped 3000+ caviar tubes and other food items to 30+ different countries and only experienced a few problems with shipments to Brazil, Israel, Ukraine and Saudi Arabia.

The cheese survives shipping, but should be stored cold in the fridge after arrival for best taste. The "best before" date is about 2-3 months from day of shipping, but if stored cold, it can be enjoyed long after that.

This is a dairy product and it is buyers responsibility to check that you are allowed to import food items to your country.
