Dashboard Speaker Upgrade kit for Boxster 986 Models

The standard Boxster and Boxster S models made between 1996 and July 2005 were fitted with poor quality Nokia speakers with paper cones and very small magnets, causing a weak distorted sound on all versions and options other than the Bose special option.

Upgrade should be simple. But Porsche/Nokia designed the speaker grills so that they could not be easily upgraded in an attempt to force customers to buy the very expensive Bose sound system upgrade.

With this kit, upgrading the speakers is easy and the improvements instantly noticeable. 

This kit includes everything you need to retain your original dashboard speaker grills without modification to the grills, wiring or the dashboard, and fit two, two way Alpine SPG speakers each with 180 Watts peak (45 Watts RMS) which are included in the kit.

This version of the kit has been available since 2007 with hundreds of units sold by us alone without issue.

The kit is so easy to install, you can literally (and many have) install it in your lunch break and still have time to eat a sandwich and drink a coffee afterwards while listening to your newly improved sound system! Nothing else is needed.

Unfortunately, this is not suitable for "Bose" sound system equipped cars, if you are unsure if you have Bose, all Bose sound system equipped cars have a very obvious "Bose" logo on the door speaker grills. This kit works with all the other audio systems used in the 986 Boxster, including options mentioning "Hi-Fi", "Sound System", "Harmann" or "Nokia".
