Das Apollo 11 Gedenkmünzenprogramm zum 50. Jubiläum feiert die erste bemannte Mondlandung am 20. Juli 1969. Alle Münzen haben ein gemeinsames Design und sind gewölbt. Das Design der Münze aus fünf Unzen Silber zeigt ein Bild, auf dem nur das Visier und ein Teil des Helmes des Astronauten Buzz Aldrin auf dem Mond abgebildet ist. Durch das Visier sieht man den Astronauten Neil Armstrong, die Flagge der Vereinigten Staaten und die Mondlandefähre. Das Bild wird umrahmt von den Worten "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "ONE DOLLAR" und “E PLURIBUS UNUM". Die Inschriften "MERCURY", "GEMINI" und "APOLLO", getrennt durch Mondphasen und ein Fußabdruck auf der Mondoberfläche sind auf der anderen Seite abgebildet. Dieser gewölbte 5 Unzen Apollo 11 Silberdollar in Polierter Platte wird in einem Münz-Etui geliefert und von einem Echtheits-Zertifikat begleitet.

The Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Program celebrates the first manned Moon landing on 20 July 1969. All coins share common designs and are curved. The design of the five ounce silver coin features an image that shows just the visor and part of the helmet of astronaut Buzz Aldrin on the moon. The reflection in Buzz Aldrin’s helmet includes astronaut Neil Armstrong, the United States flag, and the lunar lander. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "ONE DOLLAR” and "E PLURIBUS UNUM”. The obverse features a footprint on the lunar surface and the inscriptions "MERCURY”, "GEMINI" and "APOLLO" separated by phases of the Moon.
