Federal Sugar Bowl Acorn Finial David Weatherly Coin Silver 1815 Mono WMS

American Federal period coin silver footed and covered sugar bowl with two flat handles. It is decorated with ornate rims and figural acorn finial on the top of the lid. On the front of the body, there is an engraved monogram "WMS" in curly script. Made by David Weatherly, Philadelphia, PA c. 1810-1820.

This incredible bowl is 9 1/4” tall, 8 3/8” across the handles and weigh 580 grams or 18.7 ozs Troy.

The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. 

The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
