Available in one variety of base fittings and wattages and they are rated at a typical life of 10,000 hours. They use only about 20% of the electricity consumed by a conventional incandescent or tungsten filament bulb. They also have a very long life of 10,000 hours, lasting 10 times as long as a conventional bulb. They are rapid start bulbs, meaning they light up within 2 seconds and should reach 60% of their light output within 40 seconds when first used from a cold start and virtually instantly from a warm start.

They should not be used with Dimmer Switches as they flicker when you turn the power down or with other electronic control switches.
