WK Hawaiian Big Game Trolling Lures      WK-9

I have been making them with Red Eyes, they say the fish like them better.

White Knight (WK).  This is the original White Knight.  Runs on the Port Corner, occasionally alternated with the Original Mother of Pearl (MOP-9) Jet.  This is a very good runner.  You will hear me mention “White Knight face cut”.  There are many requests to put this face cut on my other lures since it’s the same lead insert.  This is one of the most popular lures.

On one trip outside of Kaneohe, the White Knight (WK-9) took off (port corner) and in a few heartbeats the Starboard outrigger (B52-9) came down.  First to jump was the 240-pound Striped Marlin (which we caught) on the White Knight.  Then a monster Marlin (700 pounds plus) started jumping.  Somehow, the lines got crossed with both Marlins jumping.  By the time we could move the poles around, the B52 main line cut.  All we could do was watch the Marlin jump and roll past us on the Portside.  The marlin thought it was still hooked.  What a spectacular sight!!

The only thing more spectacular was off Kahuku, Oahu.  That day we had an 80-pound Albacore and some other fish, but no Yellowfin Tuna.  My friend called me from an area 10 miles West of our location to let me know where the fish were biting.  We pulled lines and raced to the “action”.  We set up and were going down sea.  Everybody was going up sea towards me, chasing the Yellowfin Tuna school.  My friend was on one of the lead boats, closest to me.  He yelled “Gary!!”.  I looked and he was pointing to my outriggers.  Right in front of him (giving him a Black Eye), 2 outriggers dropped.  One corner took off, and then the other corner took off, followed by the Center outrigger dropping.  All we could do was look at the 5 poles bent over and the reels screaming.  That was a spectacular sight long remembered.  We picked up 3 of the 5 hits and ended the day with 3 Yellowfin Tunas (1 big eye) and the 80-pound albacore.  Notice the 9 inch Side Winder in picture.

This Lure is dressed with flying fish colored skirts.  When I first saw this lure in the water, the sun must have been right.  It looked like a Bright White object in the water, hence, White Knight.  This Angle Cut is so Terrific I call it the White Knight (WK) Cut.

Lure:  Polished resin with shell inserts.  9 inch is a 5 hole Jet with White Shell Sheets

Outside skirt is light blue with silver glitters called “Ice Blue”.

Inside skirt is half pink and half yellow.

Rigging:  1 or 2 Hook Rigging available.
